If you own a 2001 Mustang you will need to make sure what transmission you have in your car, half way through the 2001 model year the T-45 transmission was replaced with the TR-3650 model and it requires a different shifter. The easiest way to find out if your car has the TR-3650 transmission is to check the door tag on the drivers door. There is a section labeled as "TR", if there is a letter "K" printed under it, your car came equiped with the TR-3650 transmission.
